Day 1: Welcome to Dublin, This is Knit and a Taste of Howth

A warm Irish welcome awaits as your knitting adventure begins in Dublin! Meet your tour guide and fellow knitters over a relaxed welcome brunch at The Spencer Hotel, the perfect opportunity to settle in and get to know your travelling companions.

Your first knitting experience takes you to This is Knit, Dublin's much-loved independent yarn store. Browse beautiful yarns, meet the friendly team and enjoy a special welcome gift created exclusively for your visit. This afternoon, travel to the picturesque fishing village of Howth, where you'll take part in a hands-on cookery experience within the beautiful surroundings of Howth Castle. Learn to prepare delicious local dishes before enjoying time to soak up the fresh sea air with a leisurely stroll around this charming harbour village.

Day 2: Aran and Gansey Knitting with Jean Long

Following breakfast, spend the day immersed in Ireland's rich knitting heritage with renowned knitwear designer Jean Long.

Begin with an introduction to traditional Aran stitches, discovering the history, symbolism and techniques behind these iconic Irish patterns. After an included lunch, continue with an engaging workshop as Jean guides you through creating your own Geansaí Chléire (Cape Clear Gansey), sharing her wealth of knowledge and passion for Irish knitting traditions.

Later this afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Dublin at your own pace. Browse the city's shops, relax with a coffee or simply enjoy wandering its historic streets. For those looking for a moment of complete relaxation, an optional sound bath experience will also be available.

Day 3: Republic of Yarnia and Relaxation in the Heart of Ireland

After breakfast, journey west into Ireland's beautiful Heartlands.

Upon arrival, enjoy refreshments before meeting Mary of Republic of Yarnia, who will introduce the inspiring story behind her colourful fibre business and the creative community she has built around Irish yarn and design. Each guest will receive a special keepsake to remember the experience.

Mary will introduce you to Women of History and Legend through yarn! Medb, Brigid, Gráinne, pirate queen Grace O'Malley, women in medieval manuscript culture, and hidden figures like Black maidens who people don’t realize existed. The colourways become a way of discussing how women have been remembered and represented. Pop-up curated luxury studio included.

Later, unwind with a luxurious spa experience at the beautiful Glasson Lakehouse, where you can relax and recharge before continuing your knitting adventure.
This evening, gather together for dinner and enjoy your first night in Athlone.

Day 4: Creative Workshop, Cruise & Clonmacnoise

Ease into the day with a meditative mindful moment tasting before joining Mary once again for an inspiring Threads of Ireland workshop. Participants are welcomed to an exclusive heritage experience led by Cultural Historian & Fibre Artist Dr. MRO of Republic of Yarnia. Explore how history, folklore, manuscripts, migration and place can be translated into colour and craft. Enjoy a workshop where you make your own personalised Notion Pouch embroidered or embroidered or cross-stitched. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure in Athlone before an unforgettable journey along the River Shannon aboard a Viking cruise to the ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise. Surrounded by history and tranquil riverside scenery, this unique experience offers a wonderful glimpse into Ireland's rich past.

Return to Athlone this evening for dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 5: Irish Midlands Fibre Festival and Ireland’s Oldest Pub!

Today is dedicated to celebrating Ireland's vibrant fibre community at the Irish Midlands Fibre Festival. Spend the day browsing beautiful yarns, meeting talented makers, discovering independent dyers and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere shared by fellow knitting enthusiasts.

This evening, visit the legendary Sean's Bar, recognised as Ireland's oldest pub, where you'll learn the secrets behind creating the perfect Irish Coffee before raising a glass with your new friends.

Day 6: Newbridge Silver, Museum of Style Icons and a Farewell Celebration

After breakfast, travel back towards Dublin, stopping at the renowned Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware. Explore fascinating exhibitions showcasing iconic fashion worn by stars of stage and screen before enjoying a delicious Afternoon Tea in elegant surroundings

Return to Dublin for some free time to explore, shop or simply relax before gathering together one final time for a memorable farewell reception. Step aboard the MV Cill Airne, a floating bar and restaurant on the River Liffey with stunning waterfront views in the heart of Dublin’s Docklands.

Day 7: Farewell to Ireland
