Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Milan!

Your Italian adventure begins with a warm Welcome Brunch at the NH Collection Milano CityLife hotel, where you’ll enjoy welcome refreshments and meet your fellow travellers. In the afternoon, we’ll step into the heart of Milan with guided visits to the majestic Duomo di Milano and the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

The evening concludes with a special Welcome Reception and Dinner at the hotel, where you can relax, settle in, and start getting to know your group.

Day 2: Italian Cooking and Explore Milan!

This morning, roll up your sleeves for a hands-on Italian cooking class, where you’ll learn the secrets of preparing traditional dishes. The afternoon is left free for you to explore Milan at your own pace - perhaps indulge in shopping at the city’s fashion boutiques, visit a museum, or simply enjoy a coffee at a local café.

Dinner is on your own tonight, giving you a chance to discover Milan’s dining scene independently – or simply take it easy with an impromptu knitting session in the hotel with your knitting companions!

Day 3: Como and Bellagio - The beauty of Lake Como

Today we venture beyond Milan to the sparkling shores of Lake Como. Our first stop is the Museo della Seta, where you’ll discover the fascinating history of silk production in the region. Continuing to Bellagio, known as the “Pearl of the Lake,” we’ll enjoy lunch and a visit to Azalea Silk, an elegant boutique offering exquisite silk creations. The afternoon is yours to wander the picturesque lanes, admire breathtaking lake views, and soak in the charm of Bellagio.

Make sure to bring your knitting and relax as you knit with your new friends, looking out over the beauty of Lake Como. Return to Milan for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Italian Social Lab Knitting Class and Knit with the Locals!

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the creative world of Milan with a workshop at the Italian Social Lab, a vibrant community hub where artisans share their skills. Start with a seamless hat Italian style and move on to the stylish headband if time allows – perfect for cooler Alpine evenings! Enjoy a leisurely lunch with the locals, followed by an afternoon of knitting together and exchanging stories.

In true Milanese style, the session ends with an aperitivo. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant before returning to your hotel.

Day 5: The City of Wool - Biella!

After breakfast, we travel to Biella, ‘The City of Wool.’ Our day begins with a visit to the Fabbrica della Ruota, a beautifully preserved wool mill that tells the story of the region’s textile heritage. After your guided tour, enjoy a class on natural dyeing with cranberries, turmeric and paprika o name a few! Take home your own paper sampler enriched with the natural dyed fibres and the knowledge to try it at home

Enjoy free time for lunch and a chance to explore the charm of Biella before we gather together. The day concludes with a delightful wine tasting at Pietro Cassina Lessona before heading back to Milan. The evening is free to relax or enjoy the city at your own pace.

Day 6: Lanar Industria Workshop and Italian Yarn Heritage

Today we dedicate ourselves fully to the world of Italian yarn at Lanar Industria, one of the country’s most respected names in textile craftsmanship. Our experience begins mid-morning with an engaging introduction to Italian yarn heritage. Discover what makes Lanar Industria so special and why Italy is world-renowned for exquisite finishing and attention to detail.

Dive into a hands-on workshop with a mini project designed to showcase signature Italian techniques. You’ll explore the Italian cast on or textured stitches, gaining skills that can be applied to larger projects. After a leisurely lunch, continue with your project, learning the Italian bind off to complete your piece. The afternoon wraps up with a Q&A session and the chance to shop for beautiful Italian skeins to take home.

Our time in Milan comes to a joyful close with the Cast-Off Party - a celebration of everything we’ve created and shared together in Italy. It’s the perfect way to toast new friendships, favourite memories and the inspiration that will travel home with you.

Day 7: Arrivederci Milan!

Today we bid a fond arrivederci to Milan and the wonderful memories we’ve created together. With new skills, beautiful yarns, and treasured friendships packed alongside your luggage, you’ll head to the airport for your onward journey. Though our week in Italy has come to an end, the inspiration, laughter and connections we’ve shared will continue to warm your heart long after you’ve returned home.
