Malú Colorín / Wicklow, Ireland

Malú Colorín is a Mexican natural dyer and designer living in Wicklow, Ireland. She grew up surrounded by textile art, thanks to her mother and grandmother. In 2018, she discovered her passion for natural dying, and the rest is history! Since then, Malú has learned from master dyers in Mexico, Ireland, the US, and Japan.

Her work blends traditional Mexican garments with the rich textile heritage of Ireland. Malú takes her time, building a deep connection with each dye source and the land it comes from.

Malú’s passion for natural dyeing sparked after reading The Slow Stitch by Claire Wellesley-Smith. This is when she began experimenting with natural dyeing using plants, insects, and minerals.

Now, Malú is the founder of Talú, a natural dye house and educational hub. Through workshops, events, and dye services, Talú helps slow fashion lovers reconnect with colour and nature. Malú also organizes the annual Archipelago Festival of Colour.

With her background in graphic design, Malú works to challenge the systems behind climate change and social injustice.
