Edel MacBride’s Aran knitting classes are super popular, and she’s one of our first instructors to teach the craft. In her classes, she shares her unique techniques and explores beautiful samples from her past collections, including pieces from her family’s knitting archive. As a result, you’ll enjoy a hands-on, creative experience using Edel’s custom Sliabh Liag yarn and other Donegal wool. Plus, some new Irish fleece!
Edel started her own label, Edel MacBride Knitwear, right after finishing at the Limerick School of Art and Design. She successfully blends traditional techniques with modern designs. Thanks to her innovative approach, her knitwear has earned multiple awards and led to many TV appearances, making her a positive role model for women in business. She appeared on popular shows like RTE Nationwide, the BBC Clothes Show, and RTE’s Craft Master to showcase her incredible talent.
Edel MacBride is a member of Design and Crafts Council Ireland and even designed for famous icons like Hilary Clinton and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Based in Donegal/Derry, Edel’s work is collected worldwide. She creates her original pieces with the help of her family team. Edel’s passion for wool is clear in everything she does!
