Jessica James-Thompson / Scotland

Jessica James-Thomson is nicknamed the “Usain Bolt of knitting!” She is originally from Portland, Oregon, but you can now find her in Scotland! Her Nana taught her to knit as a child, and once she learned the basics, there was no stopping her!

She is the proud owner of Ginger Twist Studio, a gorgeous yarn shop in Edinburgh.

In June 2013, it started as a small, cosy shop. Now, it has since grown into a much bigger space, offering not just yarn but fabric and sewing supplies. There are a variety of yarns to suit your every need, including Ginger’s Hand Dyed, Brigantia, Bearford Flock, Woolyknit and much more!

Jess has always dreamed of owning a wool shop, and after years of building her business, she’s living that dream! Throughout her journey, Jess has built a strong community in the crafting world. She feels extremely lucky to have turned her passion into a career.
