Once that’s done you’ll be able to experience the KnittingTours website perfectly.
Lisa and her mum are both passionate knitters. They enjoy learning new skills and teaching them to others! Back in 2006, they began with a small market stall and quickly launched the online “This is Knit” store. At the time, many Irish knitters struggled to find high-quality yarns made from natural fibres, so their business grew rapidly. Today, you can visit the ‘This is Knit’ store in the beautiful Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, just a stone’s throw from Grafton Street.
Since opening, This is Knit has hosted world-famous knitwear designer workshops, book launches, and yarn tastings, and thrown quite a few great parties too!
Teaching energises Lisa, and she thrives on seeing that “a-ha” moment when a student masters a new skill. She teaches students of all skill levels, from beginner to professional finishing techniques. She feels privileged to help students progress, building confidence with every class.
Lisa enjoys introducing people to unique techniques. She has been teaching Moebius Knitting with us for several years, a technique that stands out in the crafts world. The effect is striking, and the shape itself is a mathematical wonder! She pairs this technique with the stunning Irish yarn, “Soft Donegal,” which blends the softest merino fibres with Donegal’s traditional spinning and dyeing methods. The result is perfection!
We have been working with KnittingTours.com for a number of years now, offering knitting workshops to their visiting groups. The staff are always a pleasure to deal with, ready to assist with any query and professional in their communications. The groups themselves have been lots of fun to host - they come along to the workshops with oodles of enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. We always look forward to these events, and to sharing our expertise (and our wares) with the tour members.
