Burra Bears is based in a small home studio on the beautiful Burra Isle – one of the amazing islands that make up the archipelago that is the Shetlands.

Head towards the East side of Burra and discover where the original Shetland Teddy Bear is created. Meet Wendy in her workshop and hear how the first Burra Bear was made over 22 years ago using a traditional Fair Isle jumper which was then recycled into the well know and well-loved bear that has become so popular today. Wendy also uses Shetland lace, Shetland tweed and other individually designed fabrics all using Shetland wool.
